I'm a #MorrisonsMum Thanks To BritMums | AD

Disclosure - We were gifted £80 Morrisons vouchers for the purpose of this post.

£80 morrisons vouchers
I was so thrilled and honoured last week when BritMum's made me a Morrisons Mum. I was so excited when I opened my envelope and inside was a lovely letter telling me I had been chosen. Enclosed was £80 worth of vouchers for me to spend on May Bank Holiday Weekend.

I don't usually shop at Morrison's,  I have an opinion that it is more expensive than its competitors. Having said this I was quite excited to visit and have a browse at the range of food they had on offer. When I go shopping I know what I need, I know were to find it and I don't bother looking at anything else. Having the opportunity to go to Morrisons meant I could have a browse because I didn't know where all my usual shopping was.
Outside of Morrisons
When we arrived there was lots of posters and signs saying ' I'm Cheaper', you couldn't miss them. We parked up and managed to get a parent and child space just outside the entrance. I went to get a trolley so little J could sit in. I hadn't come prepared as you needed a £1 for the trolley. I am so used to shopping in Tesco and Asda were you don't need a coin for a trolley so I had to go in store and get change from a till.

Once we were inside the signs saying 'I'm Cheaper' continued to be advertised. There was also an assistant near the entrance wearing a 'smile I'm cheaper' badge.

I enjoyed having a look at items I would normally just walk past. I took big J with me and as it was his birthday coming up I asked him was there anything he would like me to make and he said lasagne.

I normally use Quorn Mince and Dolmio Sauces for my lasagne so off we went to find them. The Quorn mince for a big bag was £2.99 for 500g. The Dolmio Sauces were £2.60 each for 710g/750g. I already had some lasagne sheets but I needed some cheese for the top of the lasagne.
cheese section in the supermarket
I was really happy to see lots of I'm cheaper signs in the cheese section. I bought two large blocks of Red Leicester. Each block should be £2.10 each or 2 for £3.50 so I was really pleased with that.

We drink skimmed milk and I was eager to see how much it was at Morrisons. I usually pay £1 in Asda and Tesco although in Tesco you normally have to buy 3 for £3. Morrisons was the same 3 for £3.

We buy Hovis Best of Both and this compared to my normal supermarket at just £1.
Cheesy potato croquettes
Big J found these cheesy potato croquettes in the fridge section and were priced at just £1 too.

Overall I was extremely happy with my shop. I loved the layout of the supermarket, it was spacious and bright.

a pan full of quoin mince and sauce
Our Quorn Lasagne is extremely easy to make. I brown the Quorn mince for 5-8 minutes first in the frying pan using a spray of fry light first. Then I add the Dolmio Lasagne sauce and stir for a further 5 minutes.

Then I scoop some Quorn Mince into my lasagne dish and add some Lasagne Pasta sheets on top. Add some Creamy Lasagne White Sauce and repeat until you have used all you mince.

When you get to the last layer sprinkle on some cheese.
Put in the oven for 40 mins on 180. I usually pre heat for 10 mins and switch off after 30 minutes.

Our Quorn Lasagne will feed all four of us for Dinner and I usually reheat the rest the next day for little J's lunch and sometimes we can get another lunch too.

Per Serving our Quorn Lasagne is approx. £1.64 per serving (5 servings)

I did manage to pick up some items I usually wouldn't have bought at my usual supermarket and shopping at Morrisons this weekend definitely change my opinion. Morrisons prices did compare favourably and I wouldn't hesitate in returning to do my weekly shop.
