Premier Inn - Hemel Hempstead Central Review

As you may already know we recently visited London for the weekend. When booking our trip we decided to stay at the Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead. Although it's not actually in London it's quite close and we have stayed there before and never had any problems.

The Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead is next door to The Riverside Shopping Centre.  When travelling by car to London you have to consider a hotel with parking and if you are lucky to find a hotel with its own car park it is usually very expensive. The Premier Inn Hempstead has parking available in the shopping centre at a discounted rate of £4 per 24hrs. You can easily get to the hotel via a little footbridge on level 3.

Footbridge to the hotel. We had little J's scooter with us so he enjoyed scooting up and down.

You can check in from 2pm and check out is 12pm. We arrived around 9pm and was welcomed to the hotel by a friendly member of staff. She told us we were on the second floor room 220. We headed to the lifts, unfortunately one was out of order so it took us quite a while to fit in one lift as it was quite busy considering the time. We had the suitcase, pram (as little J had fell asleep) and a few other bags.

A great night's sleep guaranteed.

Little J couldn't decide which bed to have so he took both.

Our room was halfway down the corridor on the second floor. If you are familiar with Premier Inn hotels you will know that they are very much the same no matter which city you are in. So when we arrived to the room we knew what to expect. A double bed and two singles pushed together, a small TV and tea making facilities. It has everything you need. In our own personal experience the Premier Inns we have stayed at have always been clean and staff helpful and friendly.

Sausage and Egg on toast - a nice way to start the day

One of little J's breakfasts. He sampled everything I think.

Breakfast is served downstairs next to reception and it offers a mixture of continental and full English. We pre booked breakfast but you can buy in the morning if you decide to. There was a large selection of cereals, yoghurt's, fruit and pastries. Then there was sausage, egg, mushroom, bacon, hash brown and beans. We all enjoyed different parts of the breakfast buffet although little J had a bit of everything.

There is a bar in the Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead and every day between 6-8pm they offer 2 for 1 on all drinks. We missed this the first night but on the second we had arrived back to the hotel early so we were able to take advantage. Such a great deal.

Overall for the two nights out stay was just what we needed. It was a 40 minute drive to London and only 15 minutes to the Warner Brothers Studio for the Harry Potter tour. There is a Tesco close by and also a retail and leisure park with a selection of restaurants.

We priced some hotels in London and without parking for two nights was well over £400. The Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead was less than half this including parking for two nights.

We wouldn't hesitate in staying here again in future.
