Festive Menu at Beefeater

A few weeks ago we were treated to a delicious meal from the new Festive Menu at Beefeater. We have never dined at a Beefeater restaurant before so we were all excited. When it comes to eating out we do usually like to try different places but the Beefeater has never popped up and I'm not sure why as we have many close by.

The new Festive menu which is out now is packed with lots of dishes to get you in the Christmas mood. Before we visited I had a look at the meals online and instantly knew I was going to have a Christmas dinner. It looked delicious and perfect for a cold, wet and windy Thursday night.

When we arrived it was so nice to see a Christmas tree just by the door, it gave us that warm fuzzy feeling inside that Christmas will soon be here. The waitress was quick to sit us at our table and she took our drinks order. Now there were some amazing festive drinks on the menu but as it was school night it was Pepsi Max all round except for little J who loves a Fruit Shoot.

Like I said earlier we have never been to a Beefeater before so I was pleased that they offer refillable drinks. I would much rather eat somewhere that offers free refills as drinks can be so expensive and can often work out more expensive than the actual meal.

Everything looked amazing on the festive menu, Daddy and I decided on a festive Christmas dinner and big J choose a festive double steak festive burger. Little J had a turkey Christmas dinner from the kids menu. If you fancy something a little different there is plenty to choose from including red pepper and butternut squash tart and grilled salmon fillet with prawn and lobster sauce.

When our meals arrived they looked and smelt delicious. I opted for all the trimmings but Daddy wanted his meal plain. Big J's burger looked delicious and it certainly went down well as not a crumb was left at the end.

The Christmas dinner was served with roast turkey and plenty of it, a carrot and swede mash, brussels sprouts, pigs in blankets, a large Yorkshire pudding and stuffing.

I'm really not sure how I ate it all and had room for dessert too, but I did. The dessert menu was amazing and we each had a different pudding. Daddy chose the Christmas pudding, I had the mint matchmakers sundae, big J had the chocolate brownie and little J had ice cream. We weren't offered the choice of cream for the Christmas pudding which was a little odd and it was served with ice cream which I don't think is traditional, is it? It did look festive though with little edible gold stars on top.

We decided to have 2 courses including a main and dessert. You can choose 3 if you wish but I'm glad we just got the 2 because the main was huge. So for 2 courses for 4 people with drinks it came to just over £60. I thought this was quite reasonable and what we would expect to pay at a pub restaurant.

After this visit I can honestly say that we would definitely eat at a Beefeater again. We probably won't get chance again before Christmas but we are looking forward to trying out new and seasonal menus in the future.
