The Beginning Of Our Home Improvements

Over the next few months we are having a makeover on our house. It's something we have wanted to do for a long time but it never seemed the right time to start. Money is a huge factor when it comes to totally revamping your house and it's taken us quite a few years to save mainly because we still like our holidays and weekends away. The main jobs are our bedroom, the bathroom and the front and back gardens however it's been a good few years since our kitchen was last changed, and the tell tale signs of wear have been starting to show recently.
We have already decided on a new bathroom suite and colour scheme for the bedroom but a  few weeks ago we made the decision to replace the entire kitchen too. We have been spending our nights searching the internet for ideas for kitchens as ours looks so outdated now.  Once we've chose the kitchen units we then have to choose work tops too and at the moment it just seems like a mammoth task.

We haven't actually decided on anything just yet we are still in the browsing phase but a few colours have popped out at us so we will be making the final decisions over the next few weeks.

Once we have a brand new kitchen we will also be looking to replace our oven, hob and extractor. Our current oven seems so out dated now so it is definitely time for an upgrade.

Once we have the colour scheme I will be looking for new small electrical's too. Kettle, toaster, coffee machine (the Tassimo is a must for Daddy), and of course the microwave.

I would say out of everything in the kitchen the microwave gets the most use. Whether it's for defrosting frozen bread, reheating a cup of tea, or quickly cooking a pizza when late in from work, it's on almost every day.  We had this one for a few years now and like everything these days it seems dated compared to what's available now.

The combination microwave oven by Panasonic are perfect for families. Most of them now can fit a family sized casserole dish inside and also double up as a grill too.

I know once the kitchen is done I will be pleased that we decided to give it an upgrade. I am looking forward to keeping you all up to date with our progress and would appreciate any hints or tips you can give me. Here's to a messy house for a few months but hopefully it will be worth it.
