There has been quite an increase in children’s toys adverts over the last few weeks and we have been receiving Christmas catalogues from local toy shops too. This can only mean one thing, Christmas is coming. I was unsure what little J would be asking for this year as he just loves everything but I know one thing that will definitely be on his Christmas list and that is a Thomas Train Set. He loves Thomas & Friends and was thrilled when he received Thomas & Friends Adventures, Cranky At The Docks. We have had lots of fun playing with the play set and he’s also managed to merge it with other Adventures sets he has too.
Cranky at the docks is part of the Adventures range and like I said can be used with other Adventure sets you may have. This set was particular easy to set up and like all the Thomas tracks, made of really great quality. I like the tracks to fit together and not come apart whilst elating and this doesn’t. Once the track pieces are made they stayed so no faffing round trying to get the track back together whilst playing.
The track is a simple figure eight and the main feature is Cranky. He rotates and is able to pick up and drop the luggage items which are included.
Once Cranky has picked up the luggage he has a few options to where he can drop it. He can drop it straight in to Thomas’s carriage, in to the Sodor Shipping Co building which will then drop it on to the tracks so you will have to make sure Thomas is there ready and waiting or you can pop it on to the boat.
There is a drawbridge on the track which can be lifted so the boat can pass through. If the drawbridge is lifted Thomas will have to wait.
The set includes a die-cast Thomas and cargo pieces.

What We Loved
Cranky rotates 360 degrees and is able to pick up the cargo pieces.
Lots of places to drop off the cargo, makes it more exciting for littler ones.
Can connect to other Adventures tracks.
No batteries needed for this play set.
What Could Improve
Nothing, we love it.

This Thomas Track Set has a RRP of £34.99 and is available in most good toy retailers and online.
