Review | JBL JR Pop Bluetooth Speaker

Disclosure - We were gifted the JBL JR Pop Speaker for the purpose of this post. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

We all love our music here, and we have tried and tested so many different speakers and systems over the years. You would think that bluetooth speakers would be much of a muchness but we can tell you that some are much, much better than others and it really does make a difference which brand you use.

I have previously owned a set of Harman Kardon soundsticks and really loved the quality of sound they produced. You may not know that JBL are part of the same group as Harman, so I always keep an eye on JBL products as I know the quality that will be there.

Little J was offered the chance to try out the new JBL JR Pop Portable Bluetooth Speaker and as he loves listening to his music so much I thought it would be a great chance for him to take his music outdoors with him as the weather picks up.

The JBL Junior Pop offers all you would hope for from a speaker aimed at children. Its compact and light. With a great strap to allow the speaker to be fastened to a backpack, or even to clothing.  The build quality, I think, is really good. The rubbery shell means that the speaker can be moved easily, with protection from drops or kicks, and the IPX7 waterproof casing means that it can even be used by the paddling or swimming pool without being affected by splashes or even if its dropped in the water.  There is also a great LED light up effect that finishes off the look of the speaker and really gives it the advantage over some other similar speakers.

Bluetooth pairing is easy to set up and once set up doesn't need doing again.  Charging is through USB like your phone and a full charge lasts around 5 hours which is good considering the size of the speaker.

The sound quality is really good. For such a small speaker you do get a good level of volume and clarity to the sound and this is really important for a speaker that is likely to be used outside.

The price for the JBL Junior Pop has an RRP of £29.99, and honestly I think it's such good value for money. When you open the box, set it up and see it in action you would honestly think it cost double that, and I would be comfortable paying £60 for it.

If your little one likes music, and would like to be able to listen on the go then you really can't go wrong for £30. For more information visit JBL
