We have really started to enjoy all types of theatre shows recently and we have been looking forward to seeing Wish You Were Dead for a little while now. I first heard about it as Giovanna Fletcher was cast as Cleo for the first part of the tour (her run ended beginning of May). I've seen lots of reviews however I have managed not to read them as I like to make my own mind up.
Join DSI Roy Grace and Cleo Morley as they take their first family holiday together and a well earned break from their crime solving exploits.
Desperate for a bit of fun in the sun, they set off to France for a week of rest and relaxation, but things don’t go entirely to plan. When the humorous French hostess greets them at the eerie chateau they’ve booked in to, they begin to wonder if their week in paradise might become the holiday from hell.
Featuring a spectacular set with a few surprises and an all star cast including Clive Mantle, George Rainsford as Roy Grace and Katie McGlynn, Wish You Were Dead is a dark comedy thriller that takes the audience on a thrilling and entertaining adventure, as Grace unexpectedly finds himself totally out of his comfort zone and right in the line of fire.
Our Thoughts
Two words, loved it! When you don't really know what to expect everything is a surprise however I got a few more surprises than I thought when it had me jumping in my seat several times.
There are lots of twists and turns and it was a great watch. Running time was just on 2 hours including a 20 minute interval.
