I have always enjoyed visiting the theatre, even since I was very young watching pantomimes around Christmas time with my Mum and Dad. There is something about a live show or musical that just makes me feel happy so whenever we can John and I head to one of our many local theatre venues for an afternoon or evening out. I have managed to see some amazing shows such as Six, Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins to name a few but there are some that I am desperate to see this year.
2:22 A Ghost Story
Brilliantly funny and intriguing; 2:22 A Ghost Story is an adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may or may not appear. What do you believe? And do you dare discover the truth?
Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer. So they’re going to stay up until 2:22….and then they’ll know.
2:22 A Ghost Story is currently showing in London however the UK tour kicks off in September. For more information and how to book for London or the Uk Tour visit 2:22 A Ghost Story
The Crown Jewels
The Crown Jewels is a riotous new comedy based on the most unbelievable royal caper in British history. Charismatic and unpredictable Colonel Blood is planning the greatest heist of all time: stealing the Crown Jewels in plain sight. With a gang of misfits by his side, what could possibly go wrong? But Charles II can’t afford a royal scandal, and no King likes people handling their Crown Jewels…
This play has an amazing cast and with just 11 weeks in the West End before it heads out on a UK tour I know this will be a popular choice this Summer.
Catch The Crown Jewels from 7th July and then the UK tour beginning on the 19th September. For more information and how to book visit The Crown Jewels Play.
Heathers The Musical
Welcome to Westerberg High where Veronica Sawyer is just another nobody dreaming of a better day. But when she joins the beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers and her dreams of popularity may finally come true, mysterious teen rebel JD teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it is murder being a somebody…
You can see Heathers The Musical until September in the West End but if you want to catch Heathers on tour you can right now until October. Visit Heathers The Musical for more information and to book tickets.
Wish You Were Dead
Join DSI Roy Grace and Cleo Morley as they take their first family holiday together and a well earned break from their crime solving exploits.
Desperate for a bit of fun in the sun, they set off to France for a week of rest and relaxation, but things don’t go entirely to plan. When the humorous French hostess greets them at the eerie chateau they’ve booked in to, they begin to wonder if their week in paradise might become the holiday from hell.
The UK tour of Wish You Were Dead began in April however there is still plenty of chances to see the show, up and down the country until July.
Pretty Woman
Once upon a time in the late ’80s, Vivian met Edward and her life changed forever. Be swept up in their romance in this dazzlingly theatrical take on a love story for the ages – and get to know these iconic characters in a whole new way – in a sensational show that took London’s West End by storm, guaranteed to lift your spirits and light up your heart.
Pretty Woman ends in the West End this June before it embarks on a huge UK tour from October '23 to September '24. For info and dates check out visit Pretty Woman The Musical
Wicked
Based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked imagines a beguiling backstory to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters, and reveals the magic that shaped the destinies of two unlikely friends on their remarkable journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
I have seen Wicked twice so far once in London and once on its UK tour a few years ago. I cannot wait to see it again as it heads on tour again. The Wicked UK and Ireland tour begins this December and will run through to January 2025.
Frozen
Set the magic free with Disney’s spectacular FROZEN. The award-winning musical brings to life a world of sumptuous beauty, humour and iconic music in a jaw-dropping production to melt hearts of all ages.
When Queen Elsa’s hidden powers plunge the land of Arendelle into an eternal winter, her sister Anna sets out to find her and save the kingdom before it’s too late. But as the storm rages on, both sisters must learn that only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart.
Unfortunately there is no UK tour announced for this show so I will be heading to London at some point this year to watch Frozen The Musical
Visiting the theatre really is one of my favourite things to do. Do you like the theatre? Do you have any shows you would recommend?
