I have always loved musicals ever since I was a little girl. I grew up watching musicals such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Calamity Jane and The King and I. However one of my favourite was Annie. I watched it several times a week and would practice the dance routines in our living room. I must have drove my parents mad. A few years ago I went to the theatre to watch Annie the Musical. I was blown away. Everything about the show was fantastic from start to finish so when we got the chance to see the show again we jumped at the chance.
Annie The Musical
The smash-hit West End production of Annie the world’s favourite family musical, returns to a city near you in 2023.
Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Her luck soon changes when she's chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Meanwhile, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family…
With its Tony award-winning book and score, including the unforgettable songs It’s The Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You and Tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll love it.
The Cast
The role of Miss Hannigan will be shared between Craig Revel Horwood and Jodie Prenger. We saw Craig Revel Horwood when we watched Annie a few years ago and he was absolutely Fab-u-lous and we have also seen Jodie Prenger in Calamity Jane and she was amazing too. Whoever you get as Miss Hannigan you will definitely be in for a treat.

Our Thoughts
When it comes to Annie there isn't really much you can say other than how fantastic the production is. The whole cast bring something to the show and there will always be stand out performances but it was genuinely hard to narrow it down to just one or two.
The star of the show and rightfully so seeing as it's named after her was Annie. She can sing! She brought so much fun and character and I love seeing amazing young talent. I always wonder where they will end up next? Will I see her again in another show in the future?
Last time we watched Annie the Musical Miss Hannigan was played by Craig Revel Horwood so we knew what to expect and he didn't disappoint.
Ultimately for me it's the songs. I grew up listening to these classics and they hold a special place in my heart. However I do have a confession - It was only until this week that I realised the song It's the hard knock life is not actually It's a hard knock life like I had thought.. oops. Anyone else been singing the wrong words for 40 years?
