Halloween is always a magical time, but nothing quite compares to spending the spooky season at Disneyland Paris. Over the years, we’ve made some amazing memories at Disneyland Paris during Halloween, and it’s become a highlight of our travels. There’s something so special about experiencing the park transformed into a festive autumn wonderland. If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris this Halloween season, there are plenty of tricks, treats, and unforgettable experiences waiting for you!

What To Expect During Disneyland Paris Halloween Festival

The Disneyland Paris Halloween Festival is one of the most exciting events of the year, and 2024 promises to be bigger and better than ever. Running from 1st October to 3rd November, the park will be filled with spooky decorations, Halloween-inspired music, and, of course, lots of opportunities to meet your favourite Disney characters, villains included!

Disneyland Park

From the moment you step into Disneyland Park, you’ll find yourself surrounded by pumpkins, ghosts, and ghoulish surprises. The streets come alive with spooky fun, with plenty of photo opportunities around every corner. One of our favourite places to capture the Halloween magic is Main Street, U.S.A., which is always decked out with pumpkins, Mickey-inspired decorations, and festive autumn touches.

For any Disney fan, the attention to detail is incredible. The music changes to a more haunting, whimsical tune, making every step through the park feel like you’ve entered a spooky fairytale. The magical atmosphere adds a whole new level of excitement, and whether you’re a seasoned visitor or it's your first time, Halloween at Disneyland Paris will leave you mesmerised.

What Characters Are In Disneyland Paris For Halloween?
Halloween is a special time at Disneyland Paris, as it’s the only season when you can meet some of Disney’s most notorious villains! This year, the wicked Mother Gothel from Tangled is making her debut appearance. It’s such a rare treat to see her, so make sure you don’t miss out!

Villain fans will also be excited to know that Maleficent can be found lurking near Sleeping Beauty Castle. She’s always ready to strike a dramatic pose, making her one of the most popular characters to meet during Halloween. For those who are brave enough, head over to Adventureland where the mischievous Captain Hook will be ready to greet you near the Jolly Roger.

But it’s not all villains! Keep an eye out for some of Disney’s fun-loving characters who are also getting in on the Halloween fun. Chip, Dale, and Goofy are part of the Mischief Makers, and their antics will have everyone laughing. Whether it’s their playful banter or cheeky pranks, meeting them is sure to put a smile on your face.

Mickey's Halloween Celebration
No trip to Disneyland Paris would be complete without catching a parade, and during Halloween, Mickey’s Halloween Celebration takes centre stage. This lively parade features all your favourite characters dressed in their Halloween best, with the Mischief Makers leading the way.

The floats are beautifully decorated, and the music will have everyone tapping their feet. It’s a family favourite and perfect for capturing the magic of Halloween at Disneyland. Make sure to grab a spot early for the best view of this festive parade!

Nightfall With Disney Villains
As the sun sets and the evening begins, Disneyland Paris takes the spooky atmosphere up a notch with Nightfall with Disney Villains. This special event transforms Sleeping Beauty Castle with projections, music, and fountains for a spectacularly eerie experience. It’s a thrilling part of the Halloween Festival and one of those "must-see" moments if you’re visiting the park during the Halloween season.

Disney Electrical Sky Parade
For 2024, there’s an exclusive Halloween twist to the Disney Electrical Sky Parade. Villains take control of the show, with their own unique projections and drone displays, offering a chilling prelude to the Disney Illuminations. Seeing the sky light up with Disney magic and spooky Halloween elements is the perfect way to end your day at the park.

Hollywood Studios

Over at Walt Disney Studios Park, things get even spookier as evil villains and mischievous characters take over. From 1st October, the Studio Theatre will be the place to be for a spooky encounter with Disney’s most rebellious villains. It’s an experience that’s not for the faint-hearted, but for those who love a good fright, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

The Tower Of Terror
One of the highlights at Walt Disney Studios Park during Halloween is the iconic Tower of Terror. The haunted hotel offers a spine-chilling ride experience that will have your heart racing. The eerie atmosphere, combined with the surprises that await on the upper floors, makes it a Halloween favourite. Just remember, you never know what might happen in that rickety old lift!

As well as all the spooky shenanigans you can enjoy all your favourite rides.

Tips for Making the Most of Halloween at Disneyland Paris

If you’re planning to visit Disneyland Paris during Halloween, here are a few tips to make sure you get the most out of your spooky adventure:

Plan Ahead
Before your visit, make sure to check the Disneyland Paris website for the most up-to-date information on opening times, ride closures, and any special events happening during your stay. This way, you can plan your days and avoid any surprises.

Get Your Spot for the Parade Early
Mickey’s Halloween Celebration is incredibly popular, so find a good viewing spot along the parade route well before it starts to ensure you don’t miss any of the magic.

Dress for the Occasion
While it’s not mandatory, wearing Halloween-themed outfits or costumes (in line with park guidelines) can make your experience even more fun. Plus, it’s a great way to get into the spirit of the season!

Capture the Magic
Halloween at Disneyland Paris is a photographer’s dream. With so many unique decorations and character meet-and-greets, make sure your camera or phone is fully charged so you can capture all the memories.

There’s something truly magical about Disneyland Paris during Halloween. Whether it’s the eerie decorations, the chance to meet your favourite Disney villains, or the spectacular shows, every part of the park is filled with spooky fun and Disney magic. If you’re looking for a Halloween getaway that combines fun, excitement, and a little bit of fright, Disneyland Paris is the place to be this spooky season. It’s the perfect family-friendly destination, offering memories that will last long after the Halloween decorations come down.

Lounge Luxury for Less: Top Tips for Budget-Friendly Travel Indulgence

Disclosure - This is a collaborative post

Travel days are considered to be the least enjoyable part of holidays. After visiting Disneyland Paris recently I can definitely agree. I do think it depends what time your flight departs especially if its an 'early morning flight'. One thing I have always wanted to do is book an airport lounge. Airport lounges are designed to make travel days pleasant for everyone. Before you rush to claim that access to these areas is costly, we have gathered the top tips to enjoy lounge luxury for less. In this article, you'll learn how to indulge in travel luxuries without breaking the bank.

Join Lounge Programmes

We assume you're familiar with subscription services. More and more services follow that formula, and airport lounges are not a stranger to it. On the contrary, it is something that they have been utilising for years now. You can pay an annual flat subscription fee and gain access to an entire network of lounge areas in airports all around the world. Frequent travellers will definitely save money and have more relaxing travel days in this way.

Become a Registered Frequent Flyer

In addition to the previous tip, airlines offer their own programmes with perks and benefits for travellers who use their services frequently and loyally. Besides the bonus air miles and priority passes, access to all of the airline’s lounge areas in every airport in the world is a common reward to frequent travellers. This means you've found an airline you trust and are satisfied with their services, from booking to flying.

Buy a Day Pass

What about people who don’t travel that often but want to have a taste of lounge luxury for less? They can have a look at the available day passes. Even if you're unfamiliar with day passes, finding and evaluating affordable airport lounge deals on bookfhr.com is straightforward. Like any other comparison website, you'll find a comprehensive list of lounge offers at your chosen airport. You are provided with information about the services that are included in the specific lounge, for example buffets, internet connection, TV, and so on, so that you can effortlessly discover the lounge that matches your needs and you will have the most fun in.

Check Your Travel Package

Inclusive holiday deals are still a popular travel choice. People get their money’s worth with package holidays as they not only complete many travel arrangements, such as flights and accommodation, at once but also are protected in case of something going wrong like a flight delay. If you're considering this option, enquire about packages that include airport lounge access. Since it will be part of the package, you will be granted this lounge luxury for less.

How To Beat The January Blues

This post was last updated January '24

Blue Monday is the 3rd Monday in the month of January. If you haven't heard of blue Monday before or have no idea what it is well it's supposed to be the day when we can get very sad and down in the dumps. It's not surprising really because January is probably the worst month of the year as it's the month after all the Christmas festivities and there is not much to look forward to. If you are feeling a little blue today then read our tips on how to beat the January blues.

a path through the woods

Get Outside
On these darker days its only natural to want to stay inside and curl up on the sofa however it is best to try and head outside for some fresh air. if you can. Going for a walk and getting some light can make us feel a whole lot better. In between Christmas and New Year we went out to the park a few times and it really did help. Just that bit of fresh air cleared our minds and dusted off the cobwebs.

Go Shopping
Taking a trip to the shops in January can really help beat those 'down in the dumps' days. There are lots of January sale bargains still to be had out there and finding something you want or need at a reduced price can give you a lift that you need.

Plan A Trip
After Christmas we all want something to look forward to so planning a trip is a great way to lift your spirits and have something planned in your diary. January is when I start browsing the Internet for cheap flights or breaks away, usually it involves a trip to Disney however we have already booked our Disneyland Paris trip this year. That doesn't mean though that I can't try and sneak another holiday in.

Try Something New
January is the month for resolutions, aims and goals but they are usually made up of things we want to change about ourselves. Whether it is our weight, our job, our lack of exercise. However it would be nice for one of our aims or goals to be something positive. Think about something you've always wanted to do whether it's learn a new language or join a dance class and do it. It's good to try something new once in a while and get out of our comfort zones. One interesting idea would be to treat yourself with a fun and exciting experience - our friends from Experience Gifts have plenty to choose from!

books

Me Time
We all need a little 'Me Time' however most of us tend to put others first and we forget about us. It's important to remember that we need time for ourselves away from busy work schedules and every day life. We need to make sure we take care of ourselves and January is the best time to start a new routine for ourselves whether it's a weekly pamper night, an early night or just curling up with that book that you've been meaning to read for a year. I am determined this year to read more and although last year I did pretty well since joining my book club

If you are suffering from the January blues this year just remember you are not alone. Most of us don't like January but its just one month out of twelve and thankfully it's almost over.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 Review

I cannot explain the mixed emotions I felt last week as we headed to the cinema to watch Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3. We are huge Marvel fans, have watched all the Marvel movies and have loved the previous Guardians movies and although I was very excited to see the latest instalment I was also sad that this is the last movie featuring our favourite intergalactic heroes all together.

guardians of the galaxy sign
All that I knew about the movie was that this was to be the final movie as the writer James Gunn has since left the MCU and jumped over to DC where he will continue making superhero movies but for a different franchise. I have stayed away from watching the extended trailers and skipped past recent reviews as Marvel movies are like marmite, you either love them or you hate them. Whilst I love all the Marvel movies I can see why some people take to the internet to say how cheesy, stupid and unrealistic they can be. To be honest thats what I love about them.

The storyline is based around Peter as he is still reeling from the loss of Gamora, but he must rally his team to defend the universe and protect one of their own. If the mission is not completely successful, it could possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. James Gunn also hinted last year that this volume would also look at the back story of Rocket.

So What Did We Think? (without spoilers)
We were always going to love it. It could have been the worse film ever and we would still come out with a smile on our face. Luckily it wasn't the worse film ever in fact it was pretty amazing. It had a proper storyline and purpose which sometimes I think Marvel movies especially the stand alone movies can really lack. If you're a Guardians fan then you won't be disappointed and if you're not a Guardians fan go see it anyway as I think you may get a surprise.

The movie did hint that this would be the last of the Guardians as we know them which did bring tears to my eyes however the show must go on and with newer and younger Marvel characters popping up such as Kate Bishop, Spiderman, Ms Marvel to name a few I am looking forward to seeing where Marvel takes these characters although my heart will always be with the originals.
