Celebrating #NationalTeddyBearDay with Build-A-Bear Workshop

As it is #NationalTeddyBearDay this week it got me thinking about big and little J and their favourite teddies. Both boys love teddies, big J when he was younger had so many and little J is just the same. For me there is something special about teddies and I too had a few favourites. They are always there for you when you need them whether its to comfort you when you are sad, to take on special days out or to snuggle at night.

I may have mentioned it before but little J has a Winnie The Pooh tag which he has had since he was born. He loves it so much and takes it everywhere and snuggles it every night in bed. He has been snuggled, chewed, drooled on but even after all that he is still there to give little J comfort when he needs it. We often hear little J talking to him when he's going to sleep at night, it's so cute.

When he was bought he was a clean yellow Winnie the Pooh but as you can imagine he is now more of a grey colour but little J loves him just the same.

We actually bought another one just in case we lost Winnie the Pooh but to little J he just isn't the same. He actually calls him 'fake taggy'.

As little J loves teddies we took him to Build-A-Bear Workshop last year so he could create a teddy of his choice.  He absolutely loved the experience. He chose a Promise Pets dog and picked him a heart.

Then we went to the stuffing machine where he was stuffed and his heart was placed inside his body.

Once he was stuffed little J gave him a squeeze to see if he was snuggly enough. He was and little J named him Goldie.

This week we will be making another visit as Build-A-Bear Workshop is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day this year with a limited edition teddy bear available for only £5 and only in stores on 9th Sept.

Two additional bears will also be available for £5 each, Lil’ Vanilla Bean Cub and Lil’ Hazelnut Cub.

Visitors will be able to purchase a maximum of five £5 bears, while supplies last. For every £5 bear purchased in stores on National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate one furry friend to Childhood First in the UK
